Sangiovese – Italian Sangria

Sangiovese – Italian Sangriasangria

  • One 750-milliliter bottle Yakima Valley Vintners 2011 Semester Abroad Sangiovese
  • 3 cups fresh orange juice
  • 1/3 cup Italian vermouth (Punt e Mes or similar)
  • 3/4 cup Tuaca (citrus-vanilla liqueur)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 cup limoncello
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Ice
  • Orange slices and cinnamon sticks, for garnish

Combine the Semester Abroad Sangiovese with the orange juice, Tuaca, vermouth, lime juice, limoncello and sugar in a large pitcher. To dissolve the sugar, make sure to stir vigorously. Fill wine glasses halfway with ice and top off with the sangria. For a little extra flavor and flair, garnish each glass with a cinnamon stick and an orange slice.
