Yakima Valley Vintners 4 for 4 at Tri-Cities Wine Festival

Last night was a banner night for Yakima Valley Vintners, the Grandview, Washington winery located on the Grandview Campus of Yakima Valley Community College. All four student made wines submitted by Yakima Valley Vintners were award winners in the blind tasting along side more than 300 professionally made wines at the 31st annual Tri-Cities Wine Festival (results).

2009-awards-02The four wines submitted were produced by students completing course work in the YVCC Enology and Viticulture programs over the last two years. The wines are marketed through the program at YVCC’s Grandview campus which houses the winery facility and tasting room.

The wines submitted for this year’s competition are:

  • Yakima Valley Vintners 2008 Primitivo – Gold Medal Winner
  • Yakima Valley Vintners 2008 Teacher’s Pet (Mourvedre Rose) – Silver Medal Winner
  • Yakima Valley Vintners 2007 Graduates Last Hyrah – Syrah – Silver Medal Winner
  • Yakima Valley Vintners 2008 Class Project – Viognier – Silver Medal Winner

The Yakima Valley Vintners tasting room at 110 Grandridge, is open every Friday afternoons from 3:30pm to 6:00pm where you can find these wines along with the entire repertoire available for purchase.
